This is the build process of the Fujimi 1/ 24 scale 1986 Toyota Corolla AE86 Levin hatchback coupe, a RWD favourite with drifters, modifiers and boyracers alike.

For a long time now, these things have been common here in New Zealand - and due to their renewed popularity in the tuner and drifting communities they are now commanding higher prices - a number have even been exported BACK to Japan for use there...

As you can see, the original idea with this car was to do an Initial D replica (though using the fixed headlamp Levin bodyshell) - however when seeing other models my ideas soon changed! - One day in the far future I will build an Initial D Trueno!

Shown at the end also are a few previous builds of mine, the Honda Integra, Nissan Skyline and Toyota Chaser...

Soundtrack is The Exies - "Ugly" (2004)

  • I love the ae86... Wanna get ma hands on the.model... Would slide rings around the.newer jap.imports...

  • @proud2bechinese21 ya know they might be superlite rims

  • great job man.

  • nice orange peel on the paint

  • whererd you get the rims?

  • hi i like models too, where i can get one too,but with pop up lights N2 racing style if is possible or available

  • Mmm:D Good Job!!

  • what is this song??

  • If you want more of a challenge, there exists an Aoshima model with full engine detail. From the looks of it, some parts may be interchangeable as it's nothing more than the regular AE86 kits with the rest of the engine thrown in.

  • I am currently working on one although mine will remain mostly "stock"

PSif you want you can buy alternative tires for Fujimi 1/24 models
