Hamilton Crime Stoppers offers Reward in the Death of Rigoberto Mendez

On December 29, 2007, at approximately 2:32 a.m. Rigoberto Mendez was walking westbound on Barton Street in the City of Hamilton. Three males commenced chasing him. Two of the males giving chase stopped and retreated to an alleyway. The third male continued and delivered a kick to Mr. Mendez. Following the initial kick, Mr. Mendez fell to the roadway in the westbound, northern most traffic lane on Barton Street. The assailant then delivered at least another two kicks. Rigoberto Mendez was left in a prone position on the road, face down. The assailant then fled down the same alleyway as the initial two males had run to. Shortly there after, Rigoberto Mendez was struck by a vehicle and suffered extreme injuries. The vehicle fled the scene. Upon the arrival of Emergency Medical Services, Mr. Mendez was obviously dead.
