  • Bolo (the one on this video) is 4 years old while Cookie (the new one) is almost 2. They've been doing pretty good now with potty. No accidents at home anymore (only if something is wrong with them). I guess just give them time!!!! :D Let me know when you put some video of yours!

  • Thank you for the comments! I need to add some updated videos. Now we have 2 hounds doing the same thing!!!!! :D

  • Thank you, guys!!!

We can't pot train him either!!! He is great asking to go outside when we are at home but when we are out.... He can't hold!!!!

We still love him so much!!!! :D

  • So cute!!!!!!!!

  • bolo's best friend :D

  • Aw how cute, we have two basset hounds they are 1 this month, both brothers. Ours are the same when we are home will always go outside, when we aren't they can't seem to hold it in either. How old are your bassets? I have put up two videos of ours.

  • not sure which one is cuter daddy teaching his dog how to howl or the basset hound howling with his daddy....i think i will pick both

  • I used to get my previous dog to howl that way, but my basset just looks at me like I'm not doing it right. The only thing that will make him howl is a siren.

  • @donho1950 I adopted a basset last summer and his previous owners never managed to potty train him, so they kept him outdoors. When I brought him home, he peed and marked every corner and item in my house. It took about a week til he was mostly house-trained, but another 3 weeks of occasional accidents. He hasn't peed since. The only places where he can't help himself are the vet office, because he will mark areas where other dogs have peed (and they weren't cleaned up properly).

  • Olive is my second bassett hound and neither she or my first one Sadie could be totally housetrained. They were ok when I was home, but as soon as I left the house both would pee in the house. Great dogs, but very spitefull

  • And whoever said that the art of conversation is dead? :)
