do you stil have some pet crabs? well i feed mine with some special food for crabs and lobsters etc.. and in a month my crabs celebrate their 1. year as my pet!! XD HAHA u can check out my vid -crab hand-fed!! ;) its some kind of cute! XDD

HAHA, I used to pet one long time ago which I bought from the market w/ my father. That time I was still young that I had no idea how to really take care or him. I fed him with fish meat everyday without knowing that he needed calcium so he became a soft shell crab LMAO! Poor thing but it survived for half a year!
I was thinkin' if wasn't me who bought him, he'd be in someone else's stomach long time ago HAHAHA!!!

I don't know.. XDD i think it has something to do with the fact that they eat everything.. they must have a very strong stomac or stuff.. XD i saw crabs eat cheese and whinegums!! XD they are interesting animals i think like any animal does if you are interested in them.. ;)

I have never seen a Florida stone crab that has a blue colored shell and claws before. Most of the stone crab colors are tan or gray with spots but this seems rare. Also how did the female stone crab loose her claw. Did she fight?
Did the two stone crab mate? How did you get stone crab as pets? Where can you buy them?

The female lost her claw to a larger emerald crab when she was young, and it never grew back. The two stone crabs were acting like they mated, and the female was carrying eggs, but they never developed.
I got these as pets from ordering live rock. They came as hitch hikers and I put them in a different tank and let them grow. I am not sure if u can buy these anywhere, perhaps look on websites and people may get them as hitchhikers and want to get rid of them.

Are they the florida stone crab? (The ones with claws that people eat?) What about the gray one withthe one claw near the end of the clip?

Yes, they are florida stone crab, the ones you eat the claws from. The one with one claw is also a stone crab. There are two stone crabs and a blue crab in that tank. What the male is carrying is the female's (the one claw crab) shell. She molteed the shell.
