The shrine of Sufi poet, Wali Dakhani, was demolished during the communal riots in Gujarat in 2002 and a road was constructed in its place overnight.

They should excavate the tomb of Poet wali dakkhani from under the road and build a new memorial to this great Sufi Poet. He loved Gujrat.

I'm an American Christian, and I think this is just awful. The Hindu nationalists tore down the dargah of Chishti Rashiduddin a couple of years later. I felt the same way when Iraqi Sunni extremists blew up the Shia shrine in Samarra, and earlier when the Saudis knocked down an Ottoman castle in Mecca, to make way for a hotel. And for all the lost lives, too. May peace finally come to Gujarat soon.
