At the end of this episode Ferguson mentions the rape of 2 million German women by Soviet troops however he fails to mention that many German women were raped by British and US troops too. There are plenty of accounts of raping and looting by British servicemen. I cannot understand why Ferguson doesn't say this even though he accepts there were humanitarian failings on all sides.

Like dmacid says, this is very biased garbage.As much as many of the things said are true, they are inflated. Too much emphasis on soviet''agression''. Irony is that without the russians, we would be speaking german, well i wouldn't even be here to speak. And finaly, considering what russian families went through under the germans, I can't judge their retaliation. Just look what the americans did to the japs, and how much less they suffered against the latter.

What did the americans do in Vietnam??? Did they achieve their goal there?? instead north and south Vietnam became a single socialist country..

What about the destruction by the Germans when they invaded the USSR??? Did they not rape russians?? What is that called? When Russians raped in their vengeance against the germans it is called barbarism.. What was the activities of the germans called??.. This documentary is purely biased...

he overcooks his case at times. Like the US aid to the USSR he talks of squadrons of US fighters ready to attack at Kursk, but the footage shows T6 Harvard trainer planes. US built aircraft totalled less than a fifth of the Soviet total.
