I think it's awesome that they're getting into it at this age, but they need to get the basics perfected so they don't form bad habits that may pop up later. If you have to hop to get into position, something isn't right with the essential mechanics of the throw. I think it would be good to go through the steps slowly until it can be put into one quick, smooth motion. Keep it up, though.
