2012 Dodge Grand Caravan R/T track test

4 wheels, 1200 pounds of man, 1 open track. Loaded with 4 journalists and two reps from Dodge, we put the screws to the "Man Van", and I have to say, I was surprised. Unlike the traditional minivan, the Grand Caravan R/T held its own on the track, making the 1 mile course in 59 seconds. Considering a high-performance street car averages 45 seconds on this track, the mini van did good. Enjoy!

Glad to know I'm not the only one that races mini vans! Iv been in quite a hand full of races and majority of the time I come out on top, not so much acceleration due to weight problems but they sure get going and have some good handling. Just don't have to be too scare to get in-between cars on the interstate pussys

i still want to try the new caravan rt. I drive the new t and c and it is much better than the 07 t and c. This though, I really want to feel the suspension difference.

not to mention you did this with a loaded vehicle on a wet course, i bet a single driver in the dry could get close to 50 seconds in the new grand caravan rt
