This video was taken at the total soalr eclipse, Side, Turkey, 29 Mar 2006. It shows the approach of the Moon's shadow, coming in over the Mediterranean seconds before the Moon covered the Sun (the actual approach has been speeded up a bit in Movie Maker)...

  • super eclipse

  • Thanks. A total solar eclipe is a really unique experience: it gets cold, windy, quite and the colours just drain out of everything from about 15 mins before totality (something to do with all parts of the spectrum dimming together rather than seperately, as at sunset when the red bit is the last to go).

  • Excellent video! cheers

  • A total solar eclipse takes place, on average, about once every 18 months.

It is the most stunning experience!

The shadow comes over like a huge wall of darkness!

  • cool

  • Brilliant

  • Wow!!!

It was nice to see the effect of the eclipse on the earth... not only the image of the moon and sun together^^

    Thank you!

  • how often do those happen. I thinks it like 7 yrs right?
