The REAL Rudy: Radios

Continued - If there were repeaters set up in the building for FDNYs radios they would of not had this problem. When FDNY responds to a scene to this day, they are TAC1 which is there Simplex channel. Simplex means point to point hence NO REPEATER COVERAGE. The radios will only work a limted distance. They need a special channel to operate on that has repeater coverage in order for everyone to be heard. The radios did not fail. The system in which they run on did!!!!

Ok heres the real deal to people who do not know how radios work. FDNY at this time was using Motorola Saber VHF Radios. VHF doesn't work as well as UHF in buildings. For everyones info the FDNY now carrys Motorola XTS UHF radios now. The real reason why there was poor communication in the bulidings was because there was no repeater coverage in the buildings. A Repeater takes a transmitting signal, amplifies it to a very strong signal and re transmits it. They needed better repeater coverage.

Rudy is such a prick. He says the firemen stayed in the World Trade Center on purpose, disobeying orders to get out because they wanted to "stand their ground"? Sounds to me like the crappy motorola radios obtained by some backroom kickback deal with the mayor's office caused over 100 firemen to lose their lives. And then this clown Rudy runs for President by invoking 9/11 at every turn during his campaign? That's a dangerous pig right there folks. He could be innocent but probably not....

It's like when Firestone Tires were defective.
You don't go back and buy new Firestone Tires. But they had some kind of deal with Motorola...

Since Rudy will never be charged with murder the only thing you people can do is ask yourself? DO I OWN ANYTHING BY
MOTOROLA? And if you do, promptly chuck it aside and get something new.

That is what I did. As silly as it may seem.

They should of gone with Icom. But no... its not american. And c what happens. Only the us army made the right choice and chose Icom for their radios. They where the first company that wasnt american to supply radios to the us defence force. Just becaues its american doesnt make it the best.

first all handheld radios can not go over 5 watts of TPO power. if a handheld radio gose over 5 watts then it is inlegel. 5 watts can not go through a buliding like the twin towers. it is the FCCs problem. or the NYC goverment lowerd the power on the fire depts. radios. that is the only two reasons why they failed. or the frequency the radios where using could have alot to do with it if they were useing a high frequency.

FRAUD.

It's really sad that it takes something like 9/11 and over 3000 deaths to make people realize the importance of things like radios that work.
