You probably noticed the strong new wave streak running through Arcade Fire's The Suburbs, especially on the Régine Chassagne-fronted "Sprawl II." The Hood Internet's ABX also picked up on the song's rhythmic similarities to Blondie's "Heart Of Glass" when he created this mashup. I like that the guitar melody of the latter song comes up subtly and naturally after Régine's verses. Listen:

@starsweet4 If you like this sound, I think you should check out Broken Social Scene. I really love TAF, but most of their stuff sounds pretty different from this. Usually Win Butler is singing lead vocals, not Regine.

this is awesome, when i heard this on snl i was thinking "it sounds sooo familiar" and i finally realized it sounded like blondie's heart of glass. i looked it up and now i see i'm not the only one who thought so!
i haven't heard much else of arcade fire, do their other songs sound new wave too?
