  • Looks like a picture from a children's fairy tale. So peaceful.

But in America we are not allowed to cut trees in parks and sleeping in the open air we would be eaten alive by black flies and mosquitoes.

  • Ticks, don't forget the ticks and chiggers!!!

Great post, I'll use as much of that info as possible, I'll pass this along! 5/5 John.

  • I've only got them rarely. Try carrying a tick remover from a vet - they work just as well on humans and cost little. Also see reply above. Thanks for comment

  • Try Avon Skin so soft moisturizer - It's what the scottish foresters use - smell like an old lady but it keeps the midges away - might work for you if you can get it.

  • Your the master of outdoor furniture I love it.

  • nice

  • I didn't even know you all had woods or forests in the U.K. I only knew about Sherwood Forest nut I thought they cut it down to find Robin Hood ??

  • Nice summer camp, although I avoid camping in the summer because of the bugs and the fact that it's no fun hiking in the heat, but I love the chair, great simple design.

  • Nice video...educational... love the furniture :) 5/5

  • Fantastic video wildshow, great delivery and step by step shots. I have to say i would only go for this set up on a two to three day trip as its a lot of work for an over nighter. Also my wicker skills leave a lot to desire. Thanks again for the vid.

  • Interesting, I'll have to try it.

Nothing so far works. DEET does not work, smoke does not work.

American black flies are extremely tolerant of repellents.

  • I used to live in MO.

Ticks are least of my worries.

I fear more the redneck locals who may see my vehicle and track me down in the woods. My ass would be history.

  • I often use that technique for a browse bed myself. We usually have to use dead and down wood and browse its the same idea. Chair idea is a nice addition to the camp, and is nice year round. If you have a good place to camp that allows you to, you can leave something like that up so it will be there next time

  • really cooland informative
