Hello. My name is Laurie and I too have LAM. I was diagnosed in 2000 when I was 19 years old, due to a collapsed lung. Since then I've had many more collapses(7 in total) and a number of surgeries. I am now 27 and I'm completely oxygen dependent. Over the years, my pulmonary doc told me that my lung function was slowly deteriorating. At my last appointment, last month, I was told that I'm down to 30% lung function. Thanks for posting this video! My thoughts and prayers are with you!

I love you! We see the world in much the same way--I have CF and have had two transplants but found my greatest joy at the time when I was at my sickest. I now struggle to hold on to that level of connectedness I felt when I was so ill. I'm writing a second book with many of the themes you spoke about!
Your analogy of the rain and two different perspectives is brilliant! Can I share that with the folks who take my workshops? I just love it!!!
All my love and thank you so much for this video.

This is one of the most beautiful and informative videos I have ever seen. I not only know about LAM, but I have a new appreciation of what illness is. It does not define a person. It just is something different about a person. We are as different as snowflakes. The author, Kate McCarthy, is a gift to us all through her willingness to share this with all of the world. Thanks to all who had a hand in this production. Joan Hinsdale

Hi I'm Maureen's husband Zelle. Sounds like you had an amazing daughter. I'm sure you'll beautifully tell your grandchildren her story.
