People who use sunbeds face a 75% increase in the likelihood in contracting skin cancer. This particularly affects young people whose skin is more affected by ultra-violet rays. Find out more in this short video. Find out more about SunSmart at http://info.cancerresearchuk.org/healthyliving/sunsmart/
Sun exposure does not cause cancer. If it did, we wouldn't have the human population we do today. Cavemen didn't have sun lotion you know. It's all about developing a tolerance to it over time. Just make sure you don't get burnt, basically. This whole skin cancer thing is disinformation, and it all boils down to them not wanting you to know about the beneficial effects of vitamin D, because they'd lose millions. Do the research!

its a free world. in Ireland here they are trying to ban COMPLETLY Sun beds.. its crazy.. all they have to do is stop the private sale or rental of beds.. and in the sunbed parlors controls need to be implemented. no point in hundreds of people involved loosing their jobs... Now my question... i am a smoker so why are cigarettes not banned??? millions of people die due to lung cancer and related diseases... so why??? Revenue that's why... Cheers from Ireland.. the Nanny state...

There was a program on BBC Radio 4 today (forget name, goes out 9.00am Sat). After a 15 second "disclaimer" by the presenter, a girlie rabbited on for about 10 mins about how she loves sunbeds 3 times a week, & goes on hols to the Med to do max tanning every day. Admitted she was addicted to tanning. Listen: pharmaceutical diamorphine ("heroin"), with a sterile needle, will do you less harm - even over years. Who are you "orange women" trying to please? You are sick, in the medical sense.

I prefer to fake my tan - then atleast I don't get tan marks! It's better being safe than sorry.
