My least favorite bus in the fleet. Loud, sick-sounding engine and lots of chassis noise. Sitting in the seventh seat in back of the door.

  • I agree with the other comments, you can't even tell it shifted, never once heard the rpm's drop.

  • @ndaguanno It is starting to slip between gears. Especially going into 2nd. It has a very sudden, abrupt disengaging out of 1st, then you can hear the RPMs increase as it starts slipping, then the power slowly returns as it eases itself into 2nd. It's hard to explain and can't be heard in this video, but I don't think it was even doing it at that time. It does have an exceptionally smooth transmission, especially compared to the AmTran FEs with the DT466Es.

  • Was it a front or rear engine

  • @sneezabonk Front.

  • Did this bus change gears at all?

  • @heyto Yup, it shifted whenever it needed to. 4-speed Allison transmission, AT-545 I believe.
