I have no doubt it’s true. The facts are proven by checking with others’ testimony. The deaths of millions in the concentration camps can never be contested. There’s proof on film. He also explains in the book why he didn’t tell his tale before - when he returned after the war no one wanted to hear stories of starvation & atrocities. They only wanted stories of triumph & bravery. Also the sense he got from non-combatant civilians that if a soldier had been caught he had "let the side down."

IGNORE THE LOW NON BELIEVERS. THIS IS A TESTAMENT TO THE HORRORS THAT THE NAZIS COMMITTED. TO DENY IT HAPPENED IS TO EXCUSE AND ALLEVIATE THE BLAME FROM THOSE WHO WERE THE PERSECUTERS. THIS MAN RISKED HIS LIFE TO SHOW THAT THERE IS EVIL OUT THERE, AND THAT WE SHOULD NOT IGNORE IT, BUT AS ALBERT EINSTEIN QUTED...WE SHOULD ACT AGAINST IT AND NOT TAKE FOR GRANTED THE LIBERTIES WE CURRENTLY HOLD IN OUR HEALTHY DEMOCRATIC SOCIETIES.
