ARE Reportage - Off - Grid Strategy Workshop: What else will the off.grid business be in 2020?

Earlier in the month SolarPV.TV attended the Off-Grid Strategy Workshop held in Brussels by the Alliance for Rural Electrification, today we are presenting the 1st part of reportage. In the comming days new exciting interviews, presentations will be comming.

The Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE) represents companies and organisations who share the view that developing countries and rural communities have an alternative to traditional electrification and conventional energies. ARE believes that renewable energy technologies, utilised in off-grid or mini-grid systems can sustainably meet the energy needs of rural communities at an affordable price.

System prices are falling, innovation is accelerating, developing countries adopt promotion schemes for renewable energy. Some African countries have kicked-off their own production of RE systems. There are new supporters and new competitors. What is the impact of all this to the off-grid sector? What are the right strategies to benefit from these trends?

In this workshop ARE takes a close look at these factors and work out scenarios for the off-grid sector.
