http://live.pirillo.com - There is a fundamental difference between a "service pack" and an Apple update. When Microsoft rolls out their free Service Packs, they generally only address security flaws, which were the fault of Microsoft anyway. When Apple releases an update, they cost money. However, these updates are major upgrades to the systems' functionality and features.

    An update from 10.5 to 10.5.1 or 10.5.2 is a "service pack."

    An update from 10.4 to 10.5 is the equivalent of XP to Vista.

    So, the service packs ARE free (and more frequent than Windows) Nothing is different.
