I had the pleasure of working with him for years at Il Porto in Old town Alexandria.
I wish I could see him play the tiger rag one more time.

This September we also saw Mr. Maddox play in the Diamond Belle. WOW! What an experience!

My grandma was a huge fan and has memorabilla o' plenty, of now which I have. He was very much a people person, I remember meeting him at the Cascade Room in Tacoma....crazy...I am tickled to have live performance reel to reel/cassette recordings.....I believe he has since passed away......So, I am confused by all these sightings...maybe I am completely a ding dong on this one....oh well

Happily Johnny is very much alive and celebrated his 82nd birthday last Aug.

Actually yes. Hope to post his Gershwin stuff soon. He's still playing and, hopefull I will see him this Aug in Durango again. Enjoy
