  • The Na+ that you show as being released from the cell through voltage gated Na+ channels in the last step actually should pull Na+ ions into the cell to generate action potentials; not release them.

  • @doctorbee There must be an error on that Chloride channel because an influx of chlorine into the cell would case hyperpolarization being it is a negative charge and no depolarization would occur. Guyton also makes no mention of a chloride channel but only a Na Channel.

  • how many years did it take to figure these intermediate steps out?
