David Swenson - Fully guided First Series practice in the traditional flowing rhythm inherent to Ashtanga Yoga. Ashtanga Yoga is best learned under the guidance of a qualified instructor. This program is designed as an aid to those that have already learned the sequence from a teacher.

  • David is a brilliant practitioner and a fun and entertaining instructor. Highly recommended!

  • It's been almost half a year since I did my last Sun Salutation. (Yes, I'm a 'bad' man!) Because I strained myself so much mentally and physically (with ego) I gave it up for a while.

But now I did my Sun Salutation again and it was without so much strain. I can take practice without ego, that is somehow the greatest thing in the world for me.

  • @oldtownyoga completly agree

  • If someone could upload the short forms video that would be really cool.

You are comparing apple with orange. Ashtanga has its own system and as much as I like Iyengar's alignments I enjoy the flow of prana when practicing Ashtanga.

  • he said "gymn assts"

  • Nice, thank You!!

  • This is awesome. I had this DVD but lent it to a friend while I was injured a year ago and lost contact with him so I never got it back. My injury's finally healed and I'm glad this was uploaded so I don't need to buy another copy.

  • Anyone seriously interested in yoga, in fact EVERYONE should lookup BKS Iyengar, he is the world's leading if not perhaps ONLY true yogi, a true master of skill and philosophical genius.

He realizes the symmetry and other physical, mental aspects, and the corrections necessary to achieve perfection.

His books are simply a MUST have. Hope that helps you folks, decent video, but listen to BKS instead due to technical safety aspects.

  • Thanks for this, there seems to be less ego with David's approach, which is refreshing.

  • How do you sit like that with one leg on top of the other with a straight back! I tried to sit on the floor like you but found it impossible, I couldn't...when I tried my back, knees hurt and felt very uncomfortable. Can you tell me if most people can sit like that?
