@ThePrincessniece... Thank you so much for watching - and liking - my Thomas The Tank cake! I'm sorry, you're right, there's not a lot of detail in the video. I really am not a professional cake maker. I just do it for fun. If I ever make one of those again, I will do a better step-by-step and let you know..

Great cake. That's a really cool idea about using a table to make the cake on and delivering it that way. Right now I use pieces of wood that I cover with foil.

@wishfulpenny haha ok, i was wondering, you did sound pretty serious lol

and for large cakes like that, it would be much easier and cheaper to make your own frosting, theres a recipe on wilton.com. :) Not trying to criticise, just giving you some tips to save you LOADS of money, even if you can afford it, its money that could be used on somthing besides cans upon cans @ $3 each, versus butter, shortening and powdered sugar +flavorings wich would cost about half as much to make the same amout of frosting
oh my gash i wish you can make my sons cake when we both saw the video we loved it congratulation awesome cake if you do bake cakes for a liveing and live in California please let me know

@goffyliz1 Thank-you so much! I wish I did live in CA. I'm way over in NY. So far, I have made all my cakes for free - for friends and their kids - but now and then, I consider making them as a business. Thanks for the encouragement.

if you find you cant afford to buy a TV every time you need a board...... do like a normal person would and go to your local Hobby Lobby or craft store and ...buy a cake board! if they dont have one large enough, there are places that have FREE boxes all over the place.... grocer, hardware stores. I dont know if she was joking or not but thats just insensible to buy a new $400 tele everytime you need a board. There are loads of cake suppliers onine where you could easily find one as large for $5+

@placidelectric um...yes, I was joking. I guess I have a dry sense of humor. I just happened to have a TV box that day which worked great. Your suggestions are good. These days I use small folding tables. I make the cake on top and then close up the legs to transfer to the car and then leave the folding table intact at the party...pick it up later.

i wish you would have went into more detail about how to make the structure of the cake because i would love to try this for my sons birthday coming up but im having a hard time seeing how you did the structure but you did a good job

@jelylouise Thanks for the compliment. Sorry you couldn't figure out the structure from the video. I am not a professional cake-maker. I kind of just wing-it. I bet you did (or will do) an amazing job on your son's cake!! Lucky boy!
