Field Marshal Erwin Rommel took very great care in trying to ensure that his captured enemies were treated well and that his AfrikaKorps were never accused of any war crimes. And for SS, not all were bad, go read about Wilhelm Bittrich, who openly scolds the Nazi Party as an SS General.
