This is a clip from a favorite episode of mine, 2nd season's "Comes The Inquisitor". Delenn is interrogated by the mysterious Sebastian, who keeps asking the fundamental question "who are you?".

Mira Furlan as Delenn and Wayne Alexander as the Inquisitor Sebastian simply shine in their performances and I just love the philosophical issues and foreshadowing that fill this episode!

Disclaimer: B5 belongs to J.Michael Straczynski and Warner Bros. No copyright infringement intented.

P.S. Please, let me know if the sound level in this clip is too low and needs calibrating. Thanks :)

  • Simply put, no extravagent answer is required, if you think logically about the question.

    "Who are you?"

"I am me." Tells someone a lot about you, without wasting words.

  • Yes, but in this case, "I am me" was not enough for the Inquisitor. He was pushing and pushing in order to make Delenn and Sheridan really see themselves, their souls.

  • @gribae no i am me would never work, is doesn't answer the question. who is me how do you define me and how does me lead to what i want, why am here and where i am going.

  • I like these one on one episodes. The one with Sheridan and the interrogator is good.

  • @dchris1990 That isnt the answer that Jack or the Vorlons are wanting though. The whole point of the question "Who are you" is to draw out your true self. What you believe you are here in the universe to do. The "who" is rhetorical.

  • @arwynt but maybe saying 'i am me' is the simplistic answer that actually carries all that we can know of ourselves.... ?

  • mira furlan is the best

  • Great question, difficult or easy answer is your choice really.

  • He makes a good point in the end. How can one be expected to represent others with no idea who they are? That is what I love about B5 it asked the hard questions.

  • I am.

  • actually when he left B5 he implied that now that he found someone worthy of the task ahead, the Vorlons probably considered his services obsolete... ands he seemes reliefed to be able to die after 500 years. The actor Wayne Alexander did come back though... as Lorien, as Drakh, Drazi and Narn

  • wayne alexander - yes, he was lorien... and the drakh on centauri prime, the drazi ambassador and a narn... very busy man on B5
