Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra - Radioactive People @JazzBaltica09

This a rough mix taken from a concert on at the JazzBaltica-Festival in Salzau on July 4th, 2009.

Sorry for the horrible volume-balance and sounds of some instruments... The TV-sound-engineer wasn't too fond of helpful advice... But the band played it really well so I uploaded it anyway! The soloists are Johannes Schleiermacher (sax) and Gerhard Gschlössl (trombone).

About the piece: I wrote this in 2007 when I was thinking a lot about consumption, how subversively manipulated we are and the ambivalent effects of current trends and hypes: bursting energy flashes, short-term satisfaction, high life - empty life?

I was interested in chosing and generating material and structures which cause all sorts of feelings (disgust, excitement, etc.) because of our preconceived perception of musical styles and their meaning to us.

working in this manner led to many interesting observations on the ambiguity of tolerance and judgement.
