James Kalm is pleased to bring viewers a brief glimpse and insightful interview with one of New York most influential painters Robert Rahway Zakanitch. As one of the founders of the "Pattern and Decorative" movement in the mid seventies, Zakanitch has followed an adventurous path with varied subjects but the work remains true to his opulent version of visual beauty. The "Tureen Series" displays his generous decorative sensibility and exhibits an interest in the comforting imagery of Americana and the extravagant folk art of the ninetieth century. Featuring a spontaneous interview with Robert Rahway Zakanitch, and a cameo appearance with Don Carroll.
Wow, thanks for introducing me to yet another fantastic artist I had never heard of. That one with the rabbit head was really beautiful. Thanks for the great half assed production James Kalm.
