The pervasive culture of maintained and contestant lying within the domestic violence industry is deliberate, is designed to promote and continue domestic violence, and is designed to marginalize and vilify men and boys. It is a hate crime.

  • This saddens me deeply. I have known men that were severely abused by women, some as children and some as adults, and it hurts me to know that they get no justice and get no voice simply because their gender just so happens to be male, and the gender of their abuser just so happens to be female.

  • @RosemaryWild - the question only you can answer, and only to yourself, is does it sadden you deeply enough to do more than type an appropriately supportive comment on this video? Passing no judgement on you - in my experience even among women who understand and agree with arguments such as the one made here - when it comes to anything past saying "I agree" there is a deafening silence.

"but you can stop half the violence"

I dont agree at all. Even in the cases where such violence is one sided and nonreciprocal, If you focus on an imaginary model for violence - the myth that it's sexually specific - then you can't stop it, and thus, those efforts pursued knowing they're based on a false model are designed to continue violence, not stop it.

  • "This ad and others like it don't represent an misunderstanding or omission. They are a deliberate lie told to prevent the violence from stopping."

    Woo! Knockout.

  • Superb video. Even if they have removed the announcement I will avoid Verizon at all costs.

They should not only remove the announcement but also the people who commissioned it.

  • @fedge408 Victory!

  • @RenegadeJuggler they removed it!

  • I can't find the monster ad on any Verizon website. I think they might have pulled it.

  • I'm starting to think that we (men) should have just let this "Monster" PSA air and air often. It is so completely over the top with misandry and attempted influence of children's minds that lots of women seem to have been made uncomfortable by it.

  • Who was the man-hater that disliked this video?

  • Sort of sounds like Kasey Kasem. Can you do this again, but only with more Kasey? 3..2.1... go...
