Let me just share that the images of Pazuzu that they show.... are supposed to be there. There slowed them down so we could see them with our eyes. In the original version the images weren't caught by your eyes but in your mind. That's why people were getting sick and whatnot. This is an intentional subliminal image.

It's not a subliminal message. In order for it to be subliminal, you have to not be aware of it.

If you watch the restored "Version You've Never Seen Before", you'll see this face make a few appearances. The whole idea of this was that was the face of the demon, and during certain parts of the film it shows up to show you the state of the demon at the moment. (You see this same face during the exorcism itself flashed, and you can tell it's in distress). This isn't subliminal per se, but more of a plot device.

Agree with Emowolf. The fact that you can see it and are aware of it makes it, by definition, NOT subliminal.
