Our arrival at a campground in Saratoga, WY that was in danger of being flooded by the North Platte River. June 8, 2011. The Army National Guard was on the scene as well as Inmates from the Wyoming Dept of Corrections!
The problem was the tremendous snow melt from the Medicine Bow Mountains and other ranges that empty into the North Platte. The Spring of 2011 was devastating for snow that fell throughout Colorado, Wyoming, Montana and Utah. Flooding was experienced throughout these states.
