I don't disagree, but remember that the de-facto leader of the Tamils, Prabhakaran, is hardly any more civilized.
I have a great deal of sympathy for what the Tamil people have had to face, but I think hatred of the past alone cannot solve problems. The way forward is for Tamils, Sinhalese, Muslims etc to forge a true Sri Lankan identity irrespective of race. It's as important for Tamils to do this as it if for Sinhalese. In this regard, I think we've made great strides forward since 1983.

1948 - 1983 Peaceful talks and protests of tamils never worked. All the sinhala leaders are not civilized. The good sinhalese can't come to power because of some racist sinhalese leaders. They won't let them to build up a good country. Anyone who criticize will be killed by the gov.
