@79erba Theres plenty of D&D 3.5 edtion of the Dungeons and Dragons rules for old settings, they did Planescape (via the manual of the planes), Forgotten Realms (via the books), Greyhawk (via the RPGA stuff), Ravenloft (its own setting) and Dark Sun (in dungeon magazine)

Pathfinder paid WOTC for the rules? Why would they do that? Couldn't they just use the OGL?

I picked up Pathfinder a few months ago & have been piddling around with it along with my gaming group, a group that has been grossly disappointed by 4E.
As I understand its inception, & I think there was some blurb in the beginning of Pathfinder along these lines. When Wizards established 4E they stopped publishing Dragon Magazine with Paizo. Paizo, rather then just leaving it at that developed Pathfinder based off the Open Gaming License & the material they'd published over the years.

The only problem with this is that since the licence belongs to Wizards of the Coast who have a history of pulling them when they feel like it. Hackmaster seems to be dying off as Kenzerco has lost the licence and a 6th edition of Hackmaster may be coming out next year.
