DiRT 2 Gameplay On i7 Rig

Hello everyone, Ive recently purchased DiRT 2 and the Logitech Driving Force GT racing wheel and have been having a blast. I have all of my settings maxed out at 1920x1200 resolution. As we all know, Fraps likes to decrease framerates. On the benchmark of this game I got an average of 56fps. Here are my specs:

I am looking at buying a new computer and can not decide between intel i3-540 vs intel e5500 ? can you help me out ? what is best, newer ect. ect. ?

@woollycroton You'd definitely want to get an i3 processor over the old e5500. The i3 is of the newer Intel family and far superior.

thank you...also what about a AMD II 245 ? and do you know if the compaq mother boards are different than the HP ? are they the same just different outside or is compaq a crapy mother board ?
