Kind of took "TC's" idea and added steroids to it for the tactical market.

@snogs11 An "AI" mag isn't much cheaper really. But I get your point. Crossing that $99 mark for a mag seems a bit much.

I love the concept of this rifle but I am skeptical about the accuracy of this system. May be comparing apples to oranges, but has this platform gone head to head with some of the dedicated rifles/calibers such as AI, Surgeon, GA, etc in regards to overall accuracy? An 12 - 13 lb 338 Lp, I am curious how accurate it actually is.

@gunfriendly Keep in mind, the SRS and HTI are very new concept sniper rifle models. In the last month, the price of the DTA went from 4200 to 3200. It's a very well designed weapon system. I'm going to be buying one myself.

eh I still like the barrett systemes or the macmillan brothers, they build some real good guns too, but I guess I am partial to the larger american round as oppesed to the lapua 338 which comes from europe, even if it holds the longest shot record for a sniper, right now that is

@poonjabinator yea, there website is talking about 800 yards efective in .308wm
to be honest, that is not realy great
there .338lm convention seems to be much better

A group of friends and I are experienced long range shooters that compete. A friend bought one in .308. Its capable of long range shooting on par with the high end factory Remington, FN, or Savage rifles ($1100-$2000). It is not on par with custom rifles commonly used in 1000yd.competitions Friend still uses his Accuracy International with a custom barrel for competing. Info I thought some might like to know.

@drewsisely well that's refreshing

I really like the design of DTA's rifles and evidently they perform really well. To much money though for all it is. For $4000 and $100+ for extra mags, one might as well get a BA .50 with the shorter barrel if you looking for extra power, or a dmps ar-10 in the SASS config. for the 308, both rifles are semi auto and in my opinion just as accurate, and your not paying through the nose. Companies like DTA and Cheytac, are a little to proud of their weapons.
$106 for a six round mag, why does it feel like DTA is trying to bend buyers over?
