  • wtf is this??

  • @lBaseJumpersl This is a tutorial on how to perfect your stalls in poi. You may have seen poi done as fire twirling. Feel free to research poi til your heart is content.

  • great tutorial..

I'm practicing them to include in any routines- really helpful.

But you do talk some crap 'slight difference in gravity'.. Made me smile.

  • Hahaha, I talk rubbish from start to finish. Thats the way I structure my videos, but what I meant by that was that in the vertical stall gravity will be pulling your head down.

So if its a downward vertical stall and you don't do it perfectly it won't really matter, it offers maximum leeway.

Vertical upstalls offers much less leeway because the poi will waggle a bit as gravity pulls it down.

A horizontal stall will get pulled to the side of the way it wants to go, making it harder. ^_^

  • Nice way of thinking about it.

I found it helpful. Thanks. :)

  • Cheers, Aston... I'm glad you got some use out of it. Its one of the videos I'm actually very happy with the content.

Get your vid-yo up! I should likely do another myself... but I don't know what on.... any tutorials you wanna see?

  • hey this is a great idea! I struggle with stalls. I can do them, but I can't do it as well as I'd like. Ima start using the finger method of yours here. =) I luv ur vids... plus you're a total cutie *blush* ;-)

  • Cheers :) Still haven't quite got them.. especially my left hand.

    I'll keep practicing.

Out of interest are you Aussie or Kiwi?

  • freaking sweet vid!!

  • Practice is all there is to it. Isolations take ages, stalls take a while to get perfectly clean. I'll never be happy with mine, theres always places to improve, even if nobody else can tell.

I'd leave plane changes until you're fairly comfortable with stalls. Good luck!
