  • He makes it look so easy... trying to play this song as well

  • somewhat remind's me of a Lion! wish i could grow a beard xD

  • Also, cutting your lowest lows (like, below 80Hz) and boosting in the 100-400Hz range somewhere will help give you a tighter, less muddy sound.

  • @ibanezbassist7628 Actually, personally, I've had much more success boosting in the 400-600Hz range. Really helps bring out your fundamentals. 3k and up is mostly string noise and the highest harmonics. 700Hz-1KHz is also a good range to boost in, but it can increase the "dirtyness" or "growliness" of your sound.

  • @hagiadzo try boosting your 3k on your amp if you can so you can get the tone of your picking or fingers to cut through better.. lately my sound guy has told me to bring up the mids and turn down the bass.. i find it excessive when i go out and listen but at least im heard when i do my fancy pants riffs.. you gotta keep in mind youre in a church dealing with volunteers as well. ive tried to have a rock concert mix at church and not alot liked it.. so you have to deal with less bass and drums

  • @Kadeerthejanitor the bass is louder than it should be if it was in a CD or live.. they boosted the mids a bit too so that you can hear whats going on.

  • @xMasterxRazorx had the same thing in my church.. its about getting that bass amp to cut thru into the mix.. if you have a small stage that sound bleeds pretty bad. if you are ditching the rig, at least let him keep a avalon or bbe tube pre amp and then you can still get tone.. i love a bass amp miked so even a small 4x10 will do

  • @MyCheRom00 haha wow.. im guessing youre getting started? i ordered this exact bass.. Musicman Stingray 5.. i may throw elixers on my bass. now when i got the bass, they gave me the wrong one.. the sterling 5. but i cant complain :) im going to experiment with strings but the slinkys by ernie ball give you such a cutting growly tone.. as for the amp its an ashdown but not too sure what it is.. nothing too powerful. i use a custom rig with a markbass classic 108 and that thing roars

  • ashdown-abm500evo-abm-500-evo-II 575w monobass amphead.aspx + probably a Ashdown ABM410T

  • is that an Ashdown amp?
