Cover more water...

Designed for big fish, a lot of engineering went into the Mepps LongCast. To begin with, every LongCast is perfectly balanced, so the blade spins freely and easily, an attribute found in every Mepps spinner. Perfect balance doesn't just happen. Every component on the LongCast, from the wire to the hook, has been carefully selected and tested with the other components to assure proper balance.

The LongCast's heavy bullet-shaped body takes the effort out of long-distance casting. In addition, the LongCast sinks quickly and stays very close to the bottom throughout the retrieve, making it perfect for fishing heavy current or deep water. Pier fishermen will love it. It's ideal for trophy trout and salmon.

Weighing in at 5/8 oz., the #4 LongCast is a full 85% heavier than a #4 Mepps Aglia, and it is 65% heavier than the competition. The #5 LongCast weighs 7/8 oz. It is 75% heavier than a #5 Mepps Aglia, and weighs twice as much as the competition's #5 spinner. In fact, the heavy-weight #5 LongCast is 40% heavier than the competition's #6 spinner.

Give the Mepps LongCast a try. You will quickly discover you are casting farther and fishing deeper than you ever have before. In fact, you'll be able to fish water you've never fished before.

  • That is the sound of a boat motor...

  • @johnkfoley88 Sorry John but this IS the sound of the blade. We did not use a boat when we recorded these.

  • I've got this one, but I find it doesn't run that well, When I retrieve it slowly it does nothing, and when i retrieve at a normal rat it sometimes just stops spinning for a few second....

  • @arisingartist - Are you attaching it directly to your line or are you using a swivel? The best way to use a swivel is to use a ball bearing barrel swivel. Tie it to your line then tie another foot or so of line to the swivel. Tie the spinner directly to the end of this line. A swivel, especially a large snap swivel can impair the action of the lure.

  • i've used both, and with both methods it sporadically stops spinning.
