This is a response to techromancer1's "Let's Invade YouTube" for Pac Man. Here are two Commodore 64 versions and an version of PacMan Plus from the original Arcade Rom (played on Mame32UI).

I suck at these games but there you go, can't be good at everything.

If anybody is interested I capture these vids using either Fraps or CamStudio, then edit, voice-over and render them using Sony Vegas, then export to MPEG4 QuickTime using MPEG StreamClip, which allows YouTube to recognize the HD 720i format.

Sorry for the bad sound, still using a Skype headset to record, Microphone input is not working on this pc.

PLEASE check out techromancer1's channel, it is AWESOME!

  • Looks almost identical to the Atari 8-bit version, except that sadly Pacman is in orange in the Atari 8-bit version.

  • @RPKGameVids Yeah, I always wondered why he was orange... now the question is who copied who's version... :)

  • oh yeah, what a classic. I never played the C64 version though. I recently played the emulated version for NES and I used save states to get as far as I could... yeah.. there is no end...

  • @badassgamez The C64 version was the first non-arcade version I played, followed by the Spectrum version followed by various others. Pac Man will live forever...

  • it's the same version on the atari 5200 sounds alittle slow ..lol munchy looks cool cool video mate ..lol thanks for participating .lol:D

  • @techromancer1 yeah, the problem with the C64 version was the cpu clock speed. The VIC video chip dot clock was tied critically to the cpu clock, which left little time for the SID sound chip, which resulted in sound issues... sorry, got a bit technical there... ;-)

  • @badassgamez Did you get to 256? Was there a split screen?

  • @SteveBenway I find it a strategy that keeps me alive longer, I always favoured survival over high scores...

  • You play Pacman the same way I do. You use the power pills to keep you safe while you clean up the dots, rather than to chase/eat the ghosts.

I have about as much success as you too :D

Great video, and it's nice to see these different versions.
