President Obama breaks Armenian Genocide Pledge/Deception-Just Words?

U.S. President Barack Obama failed to follow up on his election promise to recognize the genocide of 1.5 million Christian Armenians by Muslim Turkey during 1915-1923.
Along with Armenians, other Christian groups were killed as well by the Turks, The Greeks and the Assyrians.

A number of states have recognized the killings in Armenia as the first genocide of the 20th century, including Russia, France, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Greece, as well as 42 of the 50 U.S. states. The Vatican, the European Parliament and the World Council of Churches have also denounced the killings as genocide. Uruguay was the first to do so in 1965.

Note about Turkish treatment of Kurds:
Human Rights Watch in the 90's has documented many instances where the Turkish military forcibly evacuated villages, destroying houses and equipment to prevent the return of the inhabitants. An estimated 3,000 Kurdish villages in Turkey were virtually wiped from the map, representing the displacement of more than 378,000 people.
