Shortly after I had the privilege of becoming aware of Bert, he released Circus. When he came to play at McCabes in LA, in my early twenties I was without question the youngest paying patron there. 5 years before VW put out the commercial with Nick's beautiful song Pink Moon. It was as if a vail had been lifted and finally the record would be set straight. Bert Is with out question for me, the ultimate incarnation of singer/songwriter.
