Although not all versions of A Christmas Carol could not uploaded due to copyrights, this version could be safely uploaded. Considered to be one of the most faithful presentations of the classic Holiday story (and my personal favorite... next to the Patrick Stewart Version), this version cannot be missed. Staring Alastair Sim as Ebenezer Scrooge.

  • Notice how good 'ol Scrooge walks into the passageway which has a horizontal roof-line framed by 2 round pillars...when the scene switches to where he watches Tiny Tim run up to him, it's an arched, rounded enclosure...not very good "continuity"...

  • The music played when he sees Fred always gets to me.

  • thumbs up if you think the story line was really good

  • What does the little boy say when Scrooge tells him to go and get the turkey -- it sounds like "wonker"

  • Chrismas would not be the same without watching this classic, still brings tears to my eyes. Thats for the upload.

  • The picture quality is excellent, especially when compared with the garish colourised version.

  • My all time favorite movie at Christmas - Thanks for posting .

  • Is the alley at 6:27 a real location, anyone?

  • Shyewolf, thankyou for your observations. Obviously I did not watch the film carefully enough, though I've seen it many times.

    A satisfactory conclusion then,I think.

Merry Christmas to you and to all Dickens devotees.

  • @thrippleton In Dickens' "Christmas Carol", the fiancee married after they left one another. She had a large brood of children of her own, and the spirit allows Ebenezer to witness and feel some jealousy. It does not say "Alice" is unmarried. There is only so much room in a movie to narrate such a masterpiece. It is likely a lot must be left out. Redemption is the definitive conclusion for Dickens' and after all, what better conclusion is there for a human? =)
