I personally am no hunter but envy you these moments. Now as for that paw print, which was impressive to say the least but what I'm wondering is can you tell (from the print) approximately how much the wolf would weigh in at !

Not really. Wolf attacks are very rare. The grizzly encounters I had were much more alarming than the wolves, that's for sure.

It's possible to spend many years in Alaska without seeing a wolf. At other times you might get lucky and see them several times in a week. I was out all summer and encountered wolves a number of times. The most I've seen in one summer.
