so ridiculous to give a rating as to which tenor's death was more tragic and which was less. Absolutely ridiculous. Bjorling had something that Wunderlich didn't have and Wunderlich had something Bjorling didn't have. You have a hierarchical thinking that belongs to the business world but has nothing to do with arts. Plus, it's just your subjective opinion and is not even represented in any kind of survey, just completely baseless "I know who's best" talk.

FW is Beczala's idol - Beczala says that every singing course should have 'Fritz Wunderlich singing' as a compulsory element, and is actually proud that his teacher told him a healthy Beczala sounded like a sick Wunderlich! (These are quotes from the man himself, BTW, who is a great singer in his own right, of course).

A great performance, Wunderlich had quite an ability to change the dynamic and tempo so perfectly to the emotion of the songs he sings, he makes the song his own, cant hear him enough!

Almost.. ? I'm a tenor and Bjorling was great and we heard a whole career.. Wunderlich was just on the edge.. and his voice well he sand Mahler and more.. who know's what could have been..

but that's water under the bridge i'm so grateful we can hear them
