It still sounds weird to hear him without the accent.

Oh god, they cut too much of James in this movie. He was really good in it. :(

is this really deleted? It seems like such an important scene, especially since James is in it haha, ok now I have to go finally watch this movie

@Echelonninja Thx for the info. I had no idea he was from the states. It still gets to me when I hear Hugh Laurie speaking perfect American English then hearing his Brit accent when he gives interviews or I catch him on a program where he's in the film, documentary, series (ie. I Bit of Fry & Laurie). He has a great grasp on both so I gather he's had major voice training to fake such an accent but in House MD, his Brit accent comes out when he says some words or uses a Brit word not used here.

thumbs up if you've been randomly searching James Marsters clips since 11

@PaisleyPlace he's not actually british, he's from california. this isnt his normal voice either, he's putting a bit of a southern twang on certain words

@axhfan An accent does "color" over time but the base accent remains the same. Both my kids have Georgia accents only the oldest's is not as strong as the youngest b/c she spent time in daycare & w/sitters while I worked where the little one was home w/me from the day she was born until she went to school in kindergarten. Her accent is too pronounced for her to lose it unless she goes through dialect training. Voice/Diction in college. Learned why I never lost my accent & how the girls got it.

@axhfan James Marsters accent isn't missing totally. I can hear it in the undertones. It's also there throughout the movie in specific scenes. However, bear in mind that I spent 10+ yrs working as medical transcriptionist for a large teaching hospital. Over time as an MT you learn to develop and ear for sounds, changes in tone, & even specific dialects that are tells as to where a person grew up. I've got a Georgia accent b/c that's where I learned to talk & it's set by the age of 3-5yrs old.

@Ketch67 its actually a really nice movie. Not awful - sentimental.

I love James Marsden. But I hate Hillary Swank and this movie seems awful. Too bad.

@Ketch67 Mr. Marsters and Kathy Bates were definitely the highlights of the movie for what little of the film they were in it. It was a fairly bad movie, but there are some funny bits here and there. I'd recommend renting it or borrowing it from a friend if you would like to see it for yourself.

@ilovebadkitties They never say in the movie, and I haven't read the book, so I couldn't tell you. It might have something to do with giving John the limousine business they shared ownership of after his death.
