Afghan Steam Blocking Part 2 of 2

Here I am actually using the steamer & I show the end results. Sorry about the last part being dark. It was several hours after steaming and it was night time.

I used the cardboard sewer's cutting board to block sweater parts before sewing them together. But I covered it with heavy plastic before pinning my pieces down. I did not use steam. I just misted it with warm water & let it dry on it's own. That was the method recommended with the pattern. It worked fine & the board only got a little wet where the pins were places.

I miss the days in the 70s & 80s when you didn't have to block things. The yarns self-blocked in the washer & dryer! Loved it !!

I saved this to my favorites...for one day i will have the time and patience to do this type of crochet. I will need to watch this a few more times in its entirety to understand it better. Wonderful set of videos for this beautiful afghan !!! Very thorough and covers every issue that may cause problems for anyone, thank you. :)

P.S. Just a suggestion for you. My Mom does crochet and knitted doilies. She uses a sheet of 4 x 4 plywood that has permanent grid lines and circles drawn on it and tiny brad nails that don't rust to stretch her doilies once she needs them blocked. It might work for you if you have the room for it. Thanks again for the beautiful project.
