Its not the norm and I have never tried it, but I suppose it would be possible? You may have problems with tangles during the cast though?

So A Spod Works As A Float Too?
Does It Need Weights>

A spod is simply a rocket shaped device that is filled with bait & cast into your swim. In this instance I am casting to a marker float.
This spod has bouyancy in the tip which allows the contents to empty & enables you to see it has emptied :-)
