  • I love to have a knish from a street vendor. You must remember this, a knish is just a knish.

  • @rimskyism When I moved here I had no idea what it was. Now I love them.

  • Cafe La Fortuna is closed !

  • Yes, I know. I will take the link out of the description and make a note of it. I used to go there often when I lived on the West Side. I noticed a few months ago that it was gone. And Cafe des Artistes (not a cheap place to be sure) closed recently.

  • La Fortuna closed some months back thanks to landlord greed. Another "mom&pop" institution gone, how sad!

But this is a great video. Support the independents!

  • Last week Anthony Bourdain opened his new season on Travel Channel with a show titled "Disappearing Manhattan." He went to some of the old independent restaurants and bemoaned how so many have closed. Change is good sometimes, but not always. Some of us still care. Thanks for watching.

  • I love how "gay" is an ethnicity. lol

  • @FantasticBabblings Last time I was there two years ago, they were still $1. That's the potato knish. There are other kinds. McDonalds & other fast foods should sell potato knishes. Cheap to make and heavenly to eat. Somewhat related is the latke. This is not exclusively Jewish food. It's also Scandinavian food. Those wandering Swedes come up with much of this. :)

  • LOVE Barney Greengrass!

  • thanks for this video! i'm moving there in september.

  • what about big nicks at 77th and Broadway?

  • If you are still looking for a place then be careful when get get into the 90's - 110's . There is a reason there are bargains there. The realtor won't tell you about the projects in the 90's between Amsterdam / Columbus. We almost made a huge mistake with a place at 96/ Amsterdam.... Now were on 78th and couldn't be happier... We found a great bargain this past May. Good Luck

  • So it seems there are some good things in the 90s, 100s, and 110s. I've been trying to find an apartment up in the 70s and 80s but it seems most of the bargains are out there in the 100s.
