@jo2lianhua connor didnt have a samurai for a teacher, he had a spaniard/egyptian as a teacher who in the past lived in japan & a close friend made it 4 him, & connor got it from his teacher after he was killed

@grimsdyke Connor uses Ramirez's sword, that was forged by masamune in some year BC. Duncan uses Hideo Koto's sword, that was probable forged in 18th century. They look like because I suppose it was better for the series to give both characters more things in common, but they are totally different swords.

The thing I don't understand is, I know where Duncan got his sword from but, how is it that Connor's sword looks almost exactly the same? Wasn't Duncan's teacher's sword, one of a kind? I don't know..just confused on some things when it comes to Connor and Duncan.

Not sure what you mean by "Connor is using a different sword" Different than the sword he uses in every episode including the movies? or Different than Duncan's? Connor and Duncan's sword are different i think everyone knows that already.I think what i said 7 posts down has been misinterpreted. I said "Connor's sword looks like Connor's sword" Not Connor's sword looks like Duncan's sword" i have all 7 seasons on dvd.

lichaem69 is right. In The Gathering, Connor is using a different katana. There is no design on it. Just watch the episode and pause a lot.
