I had chills when I heard the news, and now as I say these words

Joe paterno, a living legend, dead, it just feels too absurd

Isnt it ironic, that when they take what makes you iconic

And tarnish it, give it a bad name

Life just becomes one big loss, a bad game

And the thing thats more Ironic is that this happens to a winner

Do I believe joe pa was a sinner?

Nah he made one mistake, give the man a break

That doesnt change who he was as a human being

He was loved by everyone he met all 85 years being

The man stood for his team and his family, 46 years

And somehow one thing he hears,

And doesnt do enough about mangages to put a dark cloud

Over the glory, and history of a true hero

He was treated as dirt, made out to be a zero

Im not trying to say, that what he did was okay

But sometimes people need to learn to forgive and forget

And not let, that make you forget, who he was before and still is today

Because you see, every situation can be viewed in two ways

He finished with more wins and fans than any on the planet

And because of another mans mistakes hes put through all this pain? I dont understand it

And isnt it funny, how when something negative happens everyone knows who you are?

But when all is going well, most dont notice from afar

And as he himself said,

Losing a game is heartbreaking. Losing your sense of excellence or worth is a tragedy. Publicity is like poison; it doesn't hurt unless you swallow it. And The minute you think you've got it made, disaster is just around the corner.

Rest in Peace to joe paterno, the longest tenured, and greatest college football coach to ever walk on this planet.

And let his legacy live on, even if it may be slightly dented, even ferraris have a fender bender every once in a while.

And now up to heaven, you walk your longest mile.

May you never be forgotten, and with the surrounding scrutinty before your sad, suffering days,

I myself, and I believe many others, truly do believe you are now in a better place.

  • grandma got knocked up my sandusky, walking in the showers christmas eve, joe paterno saw all that happened, but never ever bothered to tell police

  • Thank you for this statement. Couldn't have sdaid it better.

  • So well said. You are wise beyond your years. I can only hope that others will feel as you do one day. Coach Paterno was a great man; even though he did not view himself as such. A great sadness that children to come will never be able to experience such a person as Coach Paterno.

  • Well done young man!, its up lifting to see young folks like you looking up to JoePa, he truly is an inspiration to us all, and will continue to be so for many, many years to come, Great job man, RIP JoePa, WE ARE!!!!!

  • This guy tried to be some ordinary Joe, but We saw him as something more. We found his "Grand Experiment" something rare for a football coach, and his honest and humble nature something rare for a human being. He treated the university as his family, donating his time and money to make it a better place. We made him the face of our university, and We looked to him as family as well. We now mourn the not-some-ordinary-Joe's parting. Rest in Peace JoePa. You've gone home...

  • RIP Joe Pa <3 we love you!
