@urbanruler ohkk yeah over here we do have open wirecablen nd pole mounted trandformers but do u know how these surges develop i mean how can weather in increase the voltage??
@bhoot619 spikes and surge can be more then 2sec eg: 5sec , Acually weather distrub electricity distribution to home this happens specially if the city you live in has open eletricity wires .The problem of surge and spikes can happen if the eletricity wires are loosen because of wind or your have faulty PMT (Pole mounted tranformer) in your area .Surge protector are designed to take control of surge or spikes with in nano seconds.Sometime electricy suppy company have problem in their system
@bhoot619 When Eletricity reaches above the require amout for two or more seconds it's called surge . for eg you need 220 but suddenly the voltage reaches 280 . This happen because of weather like snowing , rainning ,High winds or just becasue of the problem in transmission line .Sometime the spike and surge are so intensive that it may kiss your appliance goodbye .
