You play it closer to the original than anyone I've seen on YouTube. At least until I put mine up. ;)
Good job though!!! The only part you're really missing is on the D lick where he does the blues hammer-on:
D F-F#, D F-F# D F D C B A E F F# G.
Note the chromatic walk up back to the G after the A note (which I play on 1st str 5 fr so it doesn't ring).
It's VERY hard to hear that part by the way, I couldn't figure it out until I indeed listened in headphones, as you said in your description.

Actually, I only spent a few hours figuring this song out. I've been playing for about 4 years, but not too much went into this song. The strings I use came with the bass, and haven't been changed since I got it (around 2 years ago). According to the Ibanez website, they are "D'Addario® EXP™ Strings."
