Me doing the song. I never listened to this one through headphones, so I'm probably missing a bunch of fills and stuff like that. My practice amp that I normally use to record these videos is at friend's house, so all I've got is my acoustic bass. I figured this was probably the best song to do within those limitations.

  • dude this is awesome, it mustve taken u ages! u play this perfectly :) btw what strings do u have?

  • Actually, I only spent a few hours figuring this song out. I've been playing for about 4 years, but not too much went into this song. The strings I use came with the bass, and haven't been changed since I got it (around 2 years ago). According to the Ibanez website, they are "D'Addario® EXP™ Strings."

  • best music taste around.

  • I have posted several. I can definitely post one of this song as well.

  • ive seen your comments on a lot of these covers. why dont you post a video?

  • violent femmes

  • who sings this actual song??

  • You play it closer to the original than anyone I've seen on YouTube. At least until I put mine up. ;)

Good job though!!! The only part you're really missing is on the D lick where he does the blues hammer-on:

    D F-F#, D F-F# D F D C B A E F F# G.

Note the chromatic walk up back to the G after the A note (which I play on 1st str 5 fr so it doesn't ring).

It's VERY hard to hear that part by the way, I couldn't figure it out until I indeed listened in headphones, as you said in your description.

  • very good!

just so you know... the intro is bass too. all on the high G string!

  • hey what are the tabs for the part that goes bu budada bu budada. the 2nd part of the song. by the way good job on the song. your bass power level is over 9000.

  • SAWEEEEET!!!!!
